The Calico Princess Chicken is easily distinguished by their calico plumage. The plumage alternates from white to light red-orange in color, giving the distinctive bright appearance like a glimmering topaz stone. Calico Princesses are known for being friendly and docile birds. Compared to others, they are relatively calm and make good backyard chickens. These pets get along well with children and other animals and are not known to be aggressive. 

These hens typically lay up to 290 eggs per year.
